Great Year For Movies

I think this was a great year for movies. I haven't seen any of the nominees for Best Picture and I really need to get on that. Besides that, I think that The Wrestler and Gran Torino were fucking awesome. I'm gonna see Slumdog this week and prob work on the reader too, but as of right now The Wrestler is my movie of the year and if it were up to me Mickey Rourke would win every thing because his acceptance speeches would be awesome.

So, is the YouTube video of you jumping out of the shallow end of a swimming pool for real?

I've become a YouTube sensation. How it came about was, one day our strength coach said Adam Archuleta could jump out of a pool, and everybody was super amazed. I went out there one day -- it wasn't that big a deal to me -- and I just went and jumped out of the pool. I found out that I could do it, so I put it on film to make everybody else believe me.

AH I'M SO HYPE RIGHT NOW! ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

My JCC League B-ball team just SHOCKED THE WORLD.  We are Certified.  We won our second game of the season and did it at the right time, in the first round of the playoffs.  The 12th ranked Gruber Law upset the 5th ranked Cafa B Data and are now moving to another possibly winnable game. 

While I didn't score 40 like two weeks ago (and no one on their team scored 66), I did manage to draw 3 offensive fouls on one of their players and foul him out of the game.  I'm pretty sure they were the 1st, 2nd and 3rd charges called all season.  

Other highlights include the 40 guys in the audience cheering us on, led by the head of the alleged dogfighting ring "Grim Reaper Kennels."  And one of the refs leaving the game with 13 minutes left in the second half and telling the league commissioner he "didn't feel safe" and "that's why I don't come down here."  Again, this league is at the JCC in the North Shore of Milwaukee, hood.

So it's on to the second round, what can you say now?

Another Judd Apatow Hit

Looks like a great one, good mix of serious and funny with a good story which I believe has set his movies apart.  Funniest line comes from Jonah at the end.

Pepsi Throwback

Ever had a Mexican Coke?  The reason they're so delicious is because the recipe for Mexican Coke calls for real sugar as opposed to the High Fructose Corn Syrup that is used in most sodas here in America.  Now pepsi has decided to release pepsi and mountain dew with real sugar and I am very excited.

Thisiswhyyourefat.com is a blog that collects wonderful pics of beautiful food.  The above pic is a Sloppy Joe on a Krispy Kreme donut, yum.  Other works of art include the Bacon Cheese Pizza Burger, Hot Dog Pie, Gravy Covered Pizza, and a Deep Fried Peanut Butter-Covered Brownie Wrapped in Cookie Dough.  It's reasons like this that I love America.

Also, has anyone seen the show Man vs. Food on the Travel Channel?  The show is amazing, great food, funny people, decent host.  My only problem with this show is how troubled I am in debating how awesome it would be to have this job.  Yeah, I'd love to get paid to go around and eat all this deliciousness, but damn consuming that much food is painful and really is a full-time job.

The Impossible Project

 If you didn't know Polaroid has stopped making film for the old instant cameras (this has been coming for a while, and I remember hearing stories of people loading up on film years ago).  But a new company has taken over their production plant in the Netherlands, not with the plan of remaking what Polaroid was, but finding a new way to make instand prints.

"Production of analog Instant Film stopped in June 2008, closing the factories in Mexico (Instant Packfilm production) and the Netherlands (Instant Integral production)."

The Impossible Project is the name of that company, and their goal is to have a new way of creating instant prints in the next year.  Pretty cool idea, and really cool way to market their product as opposed to just launching it normally.
